Hikers rescued in Eaton Canyon

PASADENA -- Four hikers who were unable to climb down from the "First Falls" water at the Eaton Canyon Center had to be rescued by helicopter Wednesday, officials said.

The incident occurred about 5:30 p.m., when the four, whose names were not released, called 9-1-1 to say they were trapped.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department helicopter, assisted by rescuers from the sheriff's Altadena Station, helped transport the four to safety, officials said.

None of the hikers were injured, officials said.
