Thursday evening, Jeff and I decide to hike to Cucamonga Peak. So bright and early on Friday morning, we drive to the Icehouse Canyon trailhead and begin the hike at 7:20 AM.
The weather is perfect and we have the trail to ourselves, for now
7:43 - Dan - At about 0.8 mile we reach the point at which a handsome bridge used to span a ravine. The Forest Service decided to have the bridge removed and replaced with gabion baskets rock-filled wire mesh. It took the San Gabriel Mountains Trailbuilders a year of work, finished in March 2006.
